Regular Season Round 7: Tbilisi - MBG 87-114

The game in Tbilisi supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked MBG (6-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Tbilisi (1-6). MBG smashed Tbilisi 114-87 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by MBG. Tbilisi managed to win third quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Tbilisi's 40. They outrebounded Tbilisi 43-22 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. MBG looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Corey Sanders (188-97, college: Rutgers) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Serbian power forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech) accounted for 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four MBG players scored in double figures. Coach Vukasin Mandic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Levan Revazashvili (210-92) came up with 36 points (!!!) and forward Vasil Beruashvili (198-90) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tbilisi in the defeat. MBG used an opportunity after CIU lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Tbilisi stay at the bottom place with six games lost. They share the position with Abkhazeti. MBG will meet at home Arena-Orbi (#4) in the next round. Tbilisi will play against Vera and hope to win that game.
