No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Beer Sheva (11-10) beat on the road 10th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (7-14) 99-84 on Monday. Beer Sheva looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Taylor Braun (201-91, college: N.Dakota St.) nailed 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Jordan Swing (198-90, college: UAB) accounted for 22 points. Beer Sheva's coach Rami Hadar used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. International Nimrod Levi (208-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and American-Mexican point guard Paul Stoll (180-85) added 11 points and 10 assists respectively for Maccabi Ashdod in the defeat. Four Beer Sheva and five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Beer Sheva maintains fifth place with 11-10 record. Maccabi Ashdod lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Beer Sheva will meet at home higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
