Regular Season Round 21: Rishon - Bnei Hertzeliya 77-72

Date: March 11, 2019
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Rishon (10-11) won against bottom-ranked Bnei Hasharon (4-17) in Rishon Le-Zion 77-72 on Monday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rishon made 9 blocks. American forward Diamon Simpson (204-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) came up with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Bnei Hasharon in the defeat. Rishon maintains sixth place with 10-11 record. Bnei Hasharon lost their twelfth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Rishon will meet Galil Gilboa (#7) in the next round. Bnei Hasharon will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#9) and hope to secure a win.
