The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Flamengo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Flamengo defeated 10th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru in Rio de Janeiro 80-72. They outrebounded Paschoalotto/Bauru 39-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. Paschoalotto/Bauru was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch.
