Regular Season Round 24: Den Bosch - Windmills 74-69

Date: March 12, 2019
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Dutch Windmills' (14-11) road loss to fourth ranked Den Bosch (17-7) 69-74 on Tuesday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 32-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Den Bosch made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Dutch Windmills only scored six points from the stripe. The winners were led by American guard Vernon Taylor (192-87, college: Troy) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and international point guard Maarten Bouwknecht (185-94) supported him with 16 points. Even a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds by American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Dutch Windmills. His fellow American import point guard Alec Wintering (183-95, college: Portland) added 19 points and 6 rebounds. Dutch Windmills' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Den Bosch moved-up to third place, which they share with Groningen. Newly promoted Dutch Windmills keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. Den Bosch will meet Den Helder (#6) on the road in the next round. Dutch Windmills will play against the league's second-placed Leiden and hope to secure a win.
