We should mention about the upset which took place in Reykjavik, where higher ranked Thor Thorl (12-10) lost to tenth ranked Valur (8-14) in a road game 87-96. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 24-21 Thor Thorl's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 96-87 at the end of the game. The former international center Ragnar Nathanaelsson (218-91) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Italian guard Nick Schlitzer (198-92, college: Thomas Jefferson, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Valur's coach Agust Bjoergvinsson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American-Croatian guard Nick Tomsick (185-91, college: Fort Lewis) did not help to save the game for Thor Thorl. Slovenian forward Jaka Brodnik (203-92, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 17 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Valur moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Haukar. Thor Thorl at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost.
