Regular Season Round 24: B.Cearense - Pinheiros 79-81
Date: March 14, 2019
Eleventh-ranked SKY/Basquete (8-16) made lots of trouble for first ranked Pinheiros (20-5) in Aldeota on Thursday. The visitors from Sao Paulo managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Kenny Dawkins (175-87, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Marcus-Vinicius Toledo (201-86) who added 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Italian point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-84) with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-94, college: Mount Olive) scored 26 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Despite that victory Pinheiros went down to second position due to points difference. Loser SKY/Basquete dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Pinheiros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SKY/Basquete will play against Minas (#7) in Belo Horizonte and hope to secure a win.
