Leader HLA Alicante delivered the twenty second victory on Friday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Azpeitia ISB (14-12) 80-76. The best player for the winners was American point guard Justin Pitts (178-94, college: NW Missouri St., agency: Duran International) who scored 24 points. Guinean forward Cheick-Sekou Conde (203-92) chipped in 11 points. HLA Alicante's coach Pedro Rivero allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Naturalized Ukrainian center Volodymyr Orlov (208-95) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard Spencer Reaves (190-95, college: Central Mo., agency: Duran International) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Four Azpeitia ISB players scored in double figures. HLA Alicante maintains first position in Silver with 22-4 record. Loser Azpeitia ISB keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. HLA Alicante will face league's leader Navarra in Pamplona in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Azpeitia ISB will play at home against the league's second-placed Villarrobledo (#2) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
