Regular Season Round 21: Hottur - FSU 96-66
Date: March 15, 2019
Rather expected game in Egilsstadir where 6th ranked FSU (9-12) was crushed by fourth ranked Hottur (13-8) 96-66 on Friday. The game without a history. Hottur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to FSU's 32 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded FSU 49-30 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Charles Clark (188-96, college: Carson-Newman) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. American-German forward Andre Hughes (203-94, college: E.New Mexico) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Five Hottur players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Marvin Smith (201-93, college: USC Upstate) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hottur maintains fourth place with 13-8 record. FSU at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost.
