Regular Season Round 46: Ryukyu GK - Fukuoka Rizing 82-55

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Fukuoka Rizing (11-35) was outscored by first ranked Ryukyu GK (29-17) in Okinawa 82-55 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). International forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ryukyu GK maintains first position with 29-17 record, which they share with Kawasaki BT. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing keeps the fifth place with 35 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face again Fukuoka Rizing (#5) at home in the next round.
