Regular Season Round 20: Podravac - Brod na Savi 86-87

Bottom-ranked Brod na Savi managed to get a third victory, breaking the seven-game losing streak. This time they edged ninth-ranked Podravac in Virje 87-86. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Podravac won third quarter 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brod na Savi forced 20 Podravac turnovers. Strangely Podravac outrebounded Brod na Savi 65-47 including a 44-32 advantage in defensive rebounds. Podravac was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Mihaela Lazic (168-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 56 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals and Tea Josipovic (185-4) who added 15 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. Center Viktorija Curic (185-1) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 22 rebounds and 4 blocks and Petra Mihalic (-99) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Podravac players scored in double figures. Brod na Savi (3-16) moved-up to tenth place. Podravac at the other side keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Brod na Savi will play against bottom-ranked Plamen Pozega (#12) at home in the next round. Podravac will play against Pula C.Tours and hopes to get back on the winning track.
