Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Amyntas Dafnis (12-10) won against 13th ranked Apollon Patras (7-14) in Athens 68-61 on Saturday. Strangely Apollon Patras outrebounded Amyntas Dafnis 42-27 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Leonidas Zoupas (185-82) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 assists. Power forward Panagiotis Koukounias (201-88) contributed with 8 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Amyntas Dafnis' coach Alexis Zavos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Russian-Israeli power forward Anton Kazarnovski (206-85) replied with a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and Fotios Zoumpos (194-93) added 12 points in the effort for Apollon Patras. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to sixth place. Apollon Patras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Amyntas Dafnis are looking forward to face Kastoria (#8) on the road in the next round. Apollon Patras will play against Diagoras D. (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
