There was no surprise when 9th ranked San Salvatore (11-13) was defeated at home by second ranked Palermo (19-4) 64-52 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Giulia Manzotti (178-93) who scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Francesca Russo (176-96) chipped in 17 points. Four Palermo players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Anna Lussu (163-85) added 15 points respectively. Palermo maintains second position in A2 with 19-4 record having just three points less than leader Alpo VF. Loser San Salvatore keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. Palermo will face Spezzina (#4) in La Spezia in the next round. San Salvatore will play on the road against Bologna (#3) and hope to win that game.
