Regular Season Round 24: Moncalieri - Vicenza 53-41

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Moncalieri (16-8) defeated at home 7th ranked Vicenza (12-11) 53-41 on Saturday. Moncalieri forced 19 Vicenza turnovers and outrebounded them 50-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was German forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Ilenia Cordola (183-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian power forward Ivona Matic (190-86) who recorded 8 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Anna Colombo (175-92) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Moncalieri moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser Vicenza keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. Moncalieri will face league's leader Alpo VF in Verona in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Vicenza will play on the road against Bolzano AV (#15) and hope to win that game.
