Thirteenth-ranked Sant Adria (5-18) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Araski (10-13) in Vitoria-Gasteiz on Saturday. Araski managed to secure only one-point victory 68-67. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great shooting night for Araski especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Ariel Edwards (190-92, college: Penn St.) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (181-92) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Araski's coach Madelen Urieta used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Robyn Parks (183-92, college: VCU) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Mali center Mariam Coulibaly (193-97) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Sant Adria in the defeat. Araski maintains seventh place with 10-13 record. Sant Adria lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Araski will meet higher ranked Valencia (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sant Adria will play against Maquinaria Ensino (#10) and hope to secure a win.
