Regular Season Round 26: Kouvot - HyPo 89-72

Top ranked HyPo (20-7) recorded its seventh loss in Kouvola on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Kouvottaret (17-10) 89-72. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-72. Kouvottaret outrebounded HyPo 53-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American swingman Camille Zimmerman (184-95, college: Columbia) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import guard Taeler Deer (165-96, college: Texas St.) chipped in 24 points and 8 assists. The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Randi Brown (170-96, college: New Orleans) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kouvottaret have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Espoo Team. HyPo at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost.
