Regular Season Round 144: Portland TB - San Antonio S. 103-108

Date: March 16, 2019
Very significant was Spurs' (#2, 41-29) victory against their close opponent Trail Blazers (42-27) 108-103. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Trail Blazers. Spurs made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spurs made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman DeMar DeRozan (201-89, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds and power forward LaMarcus Aldridge (211-85, college: Texas) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) with 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Bosnian-Slovenian center Jusuf Nurkic (213-94) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Trail Blazers' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Spurs (41-29) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position having three points less than leader Toronto R. which they share with defeated Trail Blazers. Loser Trail Blazers keep the second place with 27 games lost.
