Regular Season Round 19: Peristeri GS - Aris 81-61

Rather expected game in Athens where 9th ranked Aris (6-13) was rolled over by sixth ranked Peristeri GS (13-6) 81-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Peristeri GS. Aris managed to win third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Peristeri GS looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Aris' players. It was a great evening for American Steven Gray (196-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. His fellow American import guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) helped adding 12 points and 6 assists. Four Peristeri GS players scored in double figures. At the losing side international point guard Lefteris Bochoridis (193-94) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and American center Gary McGhee (209-88, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Aris' coach Vangelis Agelou rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Peristeri GS moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Promitheas. Aris lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Peristeri GS will meet Lavrio (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Aris' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Thessaloniki PAOK.
