Regular Season Round 19: Hainaut - Lattes Montp. 63-86

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Lattes Montpellier (14-5) crushed 10th ranked Hainaut (6-13) in Saint-Amand 86-63 on Saturday. Lattes Montpellier looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international forward Diandra Tchatchouang (189-91, college: Maryland) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Australian swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. Lattes Montpellier's coach Thibaut Petit felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. DR Congolese center Pauline Akonga-Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Ashley Bruner (183-91, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hainaut. The victory was the third consecutive win for Lattes Montpellier. They maintain third place with 14-5 record having just two points less than leader Lyon. Hainaut lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Lattes Montpellier will face Basket Landes (#5) in Mont de Marsan in the next round. Hainaut will play at home against Villeneuve D'Ascq (#7) and hope to win that game.
