An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vigo. First ranked Real Celta Vigo faced 3rd ranked Ardoi. Host Real Celta Vigo (21-1) smashed guests from (16-6) 71-46. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ardoi. Real Celta Vigo dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Ardoi's 22. They outrebounded Ardoi 42-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of center Raquel Carrera (188-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Celia Garcia-Panuero (180-95, college: Incarnate Word) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Real Celta Vigo players scored in double figures. Real Celta Vigo's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (182-83) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Iranzu Echeverria (-93) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ardoi. Real Celta Vigo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 21-1 record. Newly promoted Ardoi keeps the third place with six games lost. Real Celta Vigo will play against Rioja (#4) in Azkoitia in the next round. Ardoi will play at home against Arxil Pontevedra and hopes to get back on the winning track.
