Regular Season Round 24: Marghera - Bolzano AV 49-56

There was a surprise result in Venezia where fifteenth ranked Bolzano AV (5-19) beat higher ranked Marghera (8-15) 56-49 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Luxembourg forward Nadia Mossong (182-86, college: E.Kentucky) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) chipped in 16 points. Bolzano AV's coach Alessandro Pezzi used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sara Toffolo (184-0) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and British forward Christina Gaskin (188-93, college: Fordham) added 6 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Bolzano AV maintains fifteenth position in A2 with 5-19 record. Loser Marghera dropped to the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Bolzano AV will face higher ranked Vicenza (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
