Very expected game when 10th ranked Cornella (8-13) lost on the road to fifth ranked Mataro Feimat (13-8) 85-81 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Mataro Feimat outrebounded Cornella 58-39 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for naturalized GMBn forward Omar Toure (199-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. Forward Jordi Juanola (196-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Xavi Guirao (190-87) answered with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Nestor Zamora (180-84) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cornella. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mataro Feimat maintains fifth place in Group C-A with 13-8 record. Loser Cornella dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Mataro Feimat will face Salou (#7) on the road in the next round.
