Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Catanzaro (3-21) was rolled over at home by second ranked Chieti (18-6) 85-58 on Sunday. Power forward Riziero Ponziani (205-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) chipped in 14 points. Five Chieti players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Andrea Locci (203-93) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Franco Gaetano (-99, agency: Players Group) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Chieti maintains second place in B with 18-6 record having five points less than leader Deco Caserta. Loser Catanzaro keeps the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. Chieti will have a break next round. Catanzaro will play on the road against Giulianova (#9) and hope to win that game.
