There was no surprise when 10th ranked Scauri (10-14) was edged at home by fifth ranked Viola RC (18-7) 71-70 on Sunday. The former international power forward Alessandro Paesano (203-93) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and naturalized Senegalese power forward Yande Fall (203-90) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side San Marino swingman Gioele Moretti (190-93) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Andrea Longobardi (199-94) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Scauri players scored in double figures. Viola RC keeps a position of B leader, which they share with Orzinuovi. Loser Scauri keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Viola RC will face Capo d'Orlando (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Scauri will play against Salerno and hope to win that game.
