Regular Season Round 47: Toyama Grouses - Shiga L-Stars 90-86

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Toyama Grouses (24-23) defeated at home 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (11-36) 90-86 on Sunday. Toyama Grouses shot 63.6 percent from the field. It was a great evening for American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Tomokazu Abe (180-85) helped adding 15 points and 6 assists. Toyama Grouses' coach Don Beck used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) responded with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Toyama Grouses moved-up to third place, which they share with SeaHorses. Loser Shiga L-Stars dropped to the fifth position with 36 games lost. Toyama Grouses will face Fukuoka Rizing (#5) on the road in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against the league's leader Ryukyu GK and hope to win that game.
