Regular Season Round 9: Tbilisi - Abkhazeti 67-76

The biggest surprise of round 9 was guest Abkhazeti's (2-7) road victory over Tbilisi (#6) 76-67 on Thursday evening. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. The best player for the winners was swingman Otari Buliava (198-94) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Ucha Gamreklidze (200-95) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Levan Revazashvili (210-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and forward Vasil Beruashvili (198-90) added 12 points and 17 rebounds respectively. Four Tbilisi players scored in double figures. Abkhazeti moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Arena-Orbi. Tbilisi lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Abkhazeti is looking forward to face league's second-placed Vera in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tbilisi's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Arena-Orbi.
