The most shocking disappointment of round 1 was a road defeat of SO Maritime Boulogne (2-7) to STB Le Havre (7-2) 71-63. STB Le Havre shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Naturalized Algerian point guard Samir Mekdad (191-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Spanish point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) chipped in 17 points. STB Le Havre's coach Herve Coudray used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Congolese point guard Loic Akono (176-87) responded with 24 points and American forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) scored 5 points and 14 rebounds. STB Le Havre is looking forward to face Orchesien BC (#10) in Orchies in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SO Maritime Boulogne will play at home against Vendee Challans and is hoping to win this game.
