The game in Borganes was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked KR (16-11) played at the court of 7th ranked Skallagrimur (6-21). KR did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-66 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 46-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KR made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Kiana Johnson (171-93, college: Virginia Union) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals. Irish forward Orla OReilly (185-90) accounted for 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. KR's coach Benedikt G. Gudmundsson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. British forward Shequila Joseph (190-95, college: Ole Miss) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 20 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international power forward Sigrun Amundadottir (181-88) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Skallagrimur in the defeat. Four Skallagrimur players scored in double figures. Newly promoted KR maintains fourth place with 16-11 record, which they share with Snaefell. Skallagrimur lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 21 games lost. KR will meet at home league's second-placed Keflavik in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Skallagrimur will play against Haukar (#6) in Hafnarfjordur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
