No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Segle XXI (11-12) beat 11th ranked Mataro Parc (7-16) in Barcelona 70-52 on Saturday. Power forward Marta Garcia (190-2) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Laia Soler (-1) contributed with 10 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Segle XXI's coach Javier Torralba used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American guard Judy Jones (175-90, college: Grand Canyon) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Itziar Llobet (181-93, college: Kent St.) added 16 points in the effort for Mataro Parc. Segle XXI maintains ninth place in Group A with 11-12 record. Mataro Parc lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Segle XXI will face league's leader Real Celta Vigo on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mataro Parc will play against Cerdanyola (#14) and hope to win that game.
