Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Almeria (13-9) defeated at home 11th ranked De La Torre (6-17) 74-59 on Saturday. Argentinian power forward Ornella Santana (183-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Argentinian point guard Macarena Durso (162-91) contributed with 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. American swingman Jasmine Lumpkin (183-96, college: Texas A&M) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Beatriz Bajo (-96) added 13 points in the effort for De La Torre. De La Torre's coach Francis Trujillo let to play ten players saving starting five for next games. Almeria moved-up to fifth place in Group B. Newly promoted De La Torre dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. Almeria will face higher ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (#4) in Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
