There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Varese Robur (13-12) was edged at home by twelfth ranked Mamy.eu Oleggio (13-13) 71-70 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was point guard Luca Valentini (189-97) who scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Matteo Parravicini (184-1) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Mamy.eu Oleggio's coach Paolo Remonti used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Marco Planezio (198-91) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Davide Rosignoli (203-88) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mamy.eu Oleggio moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Bernareggio. Loser Varese Robur keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Mamy.eu Oleggio will face higher ranked LTC Sangiorg. (#7) in San Giorgio in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Varese Robur will play on the road against Fiorentina in Firenze and hope to win that game.
