Very expected game when 10th ranked Arxil Pontevedra (8-15) lost on the road to third ranked Ardoi (17-6) 90-77 on Saturday. Ardoi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (182-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Itziar Arregui (-91) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Ardoi players scored in double figures. American center Cassie Oursler (190, college: Buffalo) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and British forward Chantelle Pressley (185-90, college: E.Illinois) added 19 points in the effort for Arxil Pontevedra. Newly promoted Ardoi maintains third place in Group A with 17-6 record having four points less than leader Campus Promete. Loser Arxil Pontevedra keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Ardoi will face GDKO Bizkaia (#6) in Galdakao in the next round. Arxil Pontevedra will play at home against Rioja (#4) and hope to win that game.
