Regular Season Round 20: Lavrio - Peristeri GS 83-55
Date: March 23, 2019
An interesting game took place in Lavrio, where higher ranked Peristeri GS (13-7) was outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Lavrio (6-14) 83-55. The game without a history. Lavrio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American-Panamanian guard Doron Lamb (193-91, college: Kentucky) who scored that evening 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and international point guard Michail Lountzis (196-98) supported him with 15 points. Even 12 points by American power forward Ed Daniel (203-90, college: Murray St.) did not help to save the game for Peristeri GS. His fellow American import Steven Gray (196-89, college: Gonzaga, agency: Octagon Europe) added 14 points for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lavrio moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Aris. Newly promoted Peristeri GS dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. Lavrio's next round opponent will be higher ranked PAOK (#4) in Thessaloniki and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Panathinaikos.
