Second Stage Round 7: Prinemanye - Rubon 59-90

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Rubon (16-9) rolled over bottom-ranked Prinemanye (3-23) in Grodno 90-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rubon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 29 Prinemanye turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for forward Ruslan Pishcheyko (190-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Maksim Shustov (188-86) contributed with 15 points and 6 steals for the winners. Four Rubon players scored in double figures. Forward Vladislav Zhmailik (190-2) answered with 9 points and 8 rebounds and forward Aleksandr Kalugin (185-1) added 10 points in the effort for Prinemanye. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rubon moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Impuls BGUIR. Prinemanye lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Rubon will face GOCOR-Sozh (#9) in Gomel in the next round. Prinemanye will play at home against Brest and hope to win that game.
