Very predictable result when second ranked Familia Schio (17-3) defeated on the road 9th ranked Empoli (4-16) 79-63. It was an exceptional evening for Greek-American guard Jacki Gemelos (182-88, college: USC) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Czech center Klara Pochobradska (186-89, agency: SPORTlab Agency) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Erin Mathias (193-95, college: Duke) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Empoli in the defeat. Four Empoli players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
