Regular Season Round 49: Kyoto Hannar. - Hitachi SR 103-105

The most exciting game of round 49 in the B League took place in Kyoto. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Kyoto Hannar. (27-22) to fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (23-26) 105-103 on Sunday evening. Hitachi Sunrockers dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Kyoto Hannar.'s 58 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 46 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. International point guard Leo Vendrame (183-93) contributed with 25 points and 6 assists for the winners. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach Geoffrey Katsuhisa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a triple-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 12 assists and American center David Simon (208-82, college: PFW) added 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kyoto Hannar.Hitachi Sunrockers maintains fourth place with 23-26 record. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side keeps the second position with 22 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers are looking forward to face league's leader Chiba Jets at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kyoto Hannar. will play against the league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
