Regular Season Round 51: Toyotsu FE - Kanazawa Sam. 91-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. Second ranked Toyotsu FE faced 4th placed Kanazawa Sam.. Host Toyotsu FE (34-17) defeated guests from Ishikawa (19-32) 91-82. Toyotsu FE outrebounded Kanazawa Sam. 33-22 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Toyotsu FE especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Toyotsu FE players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Denzel Bowles (208-89, college: JMU) who recorded 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and Jamaican-American power forward Ryan Reid (204-86, college: Florida St.) added 21 points respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toyotsu FE. They maintain second place with 34-17 record having just two points less than leader Shinshu BW. Loser Kanazawa Sam. keeps the fourth position with 32 games lost. Toyotsu FE will face league's leader Shinshu BW in Nagano in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kanazawa Sam. will play at home against Tokyo Z and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
