There was a small surprise in Lugo where sixteenth ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (8-15) defeated 14th ranked Leche Rio Breogan (7-15) 96-92 on Sunday. Leche Rio Breogan was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 21-16 charge of Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, which allowed them to win the game. They made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Leche Rio Breogan was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Bulgarian-American point guard Earl Rowland (189-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) who added 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Serbian point guard Aleksandar Cvetkovic (188-93, agency: BeoBasket) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Ukrainian power forward Volodymyr Herun (208-94, college: Portland) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada moved-up to fourteenth place. Leche Rio Breogan lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixteenth position with 15 games lost. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will face UCAM Murcia (#17) at home in the next round. Leche Rio Breogan will play against Joventut in Badalona and hope to win that game.
