Second Stage Round 8: Impuls BGUIR - RCOP Tsmoki 115-49

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Minsk: Impuls BGUIR (#5) and RCOP Tsmoki (#8). Impuls BGUIR (17-9) smashed visiting RCOP Tsmoki (6-21) by 66 points 115-49. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of RCOP Tsmoki. The game without a history. Impuls BGUIR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding RCOP Tsmoki to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Impuls BGUIR dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to RCOP Tsmoki's 46. Impuls BGUIR forced 30 RCOP Tsmoki turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by RCOP Tsmoki's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Ukrainian center Maksym Kozlovets (204-90) who helped to win the game recording 45 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and guard Valentin Nazarov (185-97) who added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists during the contest. Forward Nikita Borodin (183-2) responded with 4 points and 13 rebounds and Andrey Boyko scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Impuls BGUIR have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 17-9 record, which they share with Rubon. RCOP Tsmoki at the other side keeps the eighth place with 21 games lost. Impuls BGUIR is looking forward to face GOCOR-Sozh (#9) in Gomel in the next round. RCOP Tsmoki will have a break next round.
