A very interesting game took place in Charleville. It ended with only one-point home defeat of Charleville-Mezieres (7-3) to Toulouse (5-5) 77-76 on Tuesday evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Charleville-Mezieres helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Naturalized Guyanese Mike Joseph (203-94) notched 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Benjamin Mondesir (195-99) supported him with 11 points. Toulouse's coach Stephane Dao allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 12 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by point guard Adrien Labanere (175-97, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Charleville-Mezieres. Swingman Jonathan Leria (198-90) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Four Charleville-Mezieres players scored in double figures. Toulouse's next round opponent will be Kaysersberg (#18) at home. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Vitre (#14) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
