Regular Season Round 35: Levice - Zilina 84-65

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Zilina (15-16) was crushed on the road by second ranked Levice (22-10) 84-65. Levice players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Serbian forward Nikola Gacesa (206-87, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Milan Ziak (190-88) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Levice's coach Teo Hojc used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian center Nemanja Karalic (208-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and Jakub Meress (200-96) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Zilina. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 22-10 record having four points less than leader Inter Bratislava. Zilina at the other side keeps the fifth position with 16 games lost. Levice will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zilina will play at home against the league's leader Inter Bratislava (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
