Date: March 27, 2019
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#3) and Olimpi (#4). Olimpi was defeated at home 65-77 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Olimpi. Olimpi was ahead by 12 points after three quarters before a 33-9 charge of Dinamo Tbilisi, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpi's 18. It was an exceptional evening for Croatian center Domagoj Bubalo (212-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Jordan Swopshire (201-95, college: Colgate) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Dinamo Tbilisi's coach Irakli Khoshtaria allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Tre Bennett (178-92, college: Angelo St.) came up with 21 points and the former international guard Revaz Rogava (192-93) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Olimpi in the defeat. Defending champion (10-5) moved-up to second place, which they share with Mgzavrebi. Olimpi at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with TSU-Hyundai. Dinamo Tbilisi will play against Batumi (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olimpi will play against the league's leader Kutaisi and hopes to get back on the winning track.
