The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked HLA Alicante (23-5) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Marin (15-13) 64-56. Marin outrebounded HLA Alicante 47-34 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of British-Irish forward Taiwo Badmus (203-93, college: Virginia-Wise) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and American guard Jordan Gregory (188-92, college: Montana) who added 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Guinean forward Cheick-Sekou Conde (203-92) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) scored 8 points. HLA Alicante's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Marin maintains fourth position in Silver with 15-13 record. HLA Alicante at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Marin are looking forward to face higher ranked Villarrobledo (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. HLA Alicante will play against Zornotza and is hoping to win this game.
