Regular Season Round 21: Leuven - Spirou 64-68

Very expected game when 9th ranked Leuven Bears (5-16) were defeated at home by third ranked Spirou Charleroi (14-7) 68-64 on Friday. Strangely Leuven Bears outrebounded Spirou Charleroi 43-23 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Alexandre Libert (194-90) who scored 19 points. American forward Dario Hunt (206-89, college: Nevada) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese Ibrahima Faye (207-97) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds and 9 blocks and American guard Hugh Robertson (195-89, college: S.Florida) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Leuven Bears players scored in double figures. Spirou Charleroi maintains third place with 14-7 record having just three points less than leader Antwerp. Leuven Bears lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. Spirou Charleroi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leuven Bears will play again against Spirou Charleroi (#3) and hope to secure a win.
