Regular Season Round 5: Kalamunda E.S. - Geraldton B. 88-117
Date: March 30, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Suns (2-3) were outscored by third ranked Buccaneers (3-1) in Kalamunda 117-88 on Saturday. Buccaneers outrebounded Suns 49-29 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. American power forward Liam Hunt (201-95, college: Hope International) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Aaron Ralph (200-89) contributed with 26 points for the winners. American swingman Joshua Braun (193-94, college: GCU) answered with 29 points and guard Carl Aylett (181-97) added 10 points and 9 assists in the effort for Suns. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Buccaneers went down to fourth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Suns dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Buccaneers will face Cougars (#12) in Hamilton Hill in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Suns will play at home against Slammers and hope to win that game.
