It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Vilpas. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-84. American point guard Juwan Staten (185-92, college: W.Virginia) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import swingman Wayne Blackshear (196-92, college: Louisville, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Five Vilpas players scored in double figures. Helsinki Seagulls have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 18-18 record. Vilpas at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Helsinki Seagulls are looking forward to face higher ranked KTP-Basket (#4) in Kotka in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vilpas will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kauhajoki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
