Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Koshigaya A. (#2) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#7). Tokyo Cinq R. was defeated at home 78-84 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American players dominated also this game. Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent Florida) supported him with 12 points and 6 assists. Koshigaya A.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Cinq R.. Forward Chris Olivier (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) added 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Koshigaya A.'s supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Excel..
