There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Bolzano AV (6-19) crushed at home higher ranked Vicenza (12-12) 65-46 on Saturday. Bolzano AV forced 20 Vicenza turnovers. It was a very good performance for Luxembourg forward Nadia Mossong (182-86, college: E.Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Francesca Santarelli (175-94) answered with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Anna Colombo (175-92) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Vicenza. Vicenza's coach Aldo Corno rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Bolzano AV maintains fifteenth place in A2 with 6-19 record. Loser Vicenza keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Bolzano AV will face higher ranked Milano (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
