Regular Season Round 27: Rosalia - Carbajosa 67-75

There was no surprise in Santiago de Camp. where 13th ranked Rosalia (3-20) was defeated by eighth ranked Carbajosa (12-11) 75-67 on Saturday. Carbajosa dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Rosalia's 24. The best player for the winners was swingman Rafael Casanova (195-93, college: Florida Tech) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Arturo Cruz (180-93, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Nilo Barreiro (192-95) who recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Luis Lopez (189-96) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Carbajosa have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain eighth place in Group A-B with 12-11 record. Rosalia lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Carbajosa will face Agustinos-Leclerc (#14) in Leon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rosalia will play at home against Un.Oviedo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
