Regular Season Round 9: Sao Paulo FC - UniFacisa 93-89

Very important is a road loss of third ranked UniFacisa (5-5) against fourth ranked Sao Paulo FC (5-3) on Saturday night. Visiting UniFacisa was defeated by Sao Paulo FC in a tough game in Sao Paulo 89-93. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of UniFacisa. They outrebounded UniFacisa 50-39 including 17 on the offensive glass. American power forward Kyle Benjamin (206-91, college: Bridgeport) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and center Joao Vitor (213-98) chipped in 22 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Nick Okorie (185-88, college: Texas Tech) with 31 points and the other American import point guard Nate Barnes (178-90, college: Alders.-Broad.) scored 25 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UniFacisa's coach Eduardo Schafer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sao Paulo FC moved-up to third place. UniFacisa at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Sao Paulo FC will play against league's leader Cerrado in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UniFacisa will have a break next round.
